Hey everyone!
Today I decided to try a new segment that I hope will be a recurring event- a look into the latest trends that ruling the catwalk and taking the people by storm. This week, I head full blast into space with the holographic trend.

Think oil spills and space suits and rainbows all mixed into one. Gunmetal. Silver. Rose gold. The options are limitless. Lets take a look at the trend on the runway, and how to go holo this Spring.

The Catwalk Says...

Jonathan Saunders Spring/Summer 2013

The Celebrities Say...

Kate Moss, Rita Ora and Pixie Geldof all rocking the trend

I say...

-clockwise starting top left-
ASOS curve rainbow holographic shirt €21
Manolo Blahnik shoes €675
nastygal.com disco fever leggings €30
Kzeniya Sharp Holographic Clutch €195
Mary Katrantzou skirt €460
~

I am absolutely LOVING the trend! Its very daring and not for the light hearted, but i'm definitely willing to give it a go. I love the shoes and clutches- it looks like a great way to dazzle up any outfit. A favorite of mine are these shoes from Schuh [which you can buy here] as they are cheap, cheerful and catwalk ready!

my glitter nail polish collection

Bonjour bloggers!

Today I bring you a post on woman's best friend- glitter nail polish. For a while now I've been contemplating my relationship with glitter nail varnish. Do I love it or hate it? Beautiful when applied but a nightmare to take off, I decided to weigh up the options before making my final verdict.

As you can see clearly from the photo above, I own quite a number of glitter nail polishes- 8 to be exact. Before I get started I might as well show you them!
Essence nail art special effect toppers - l-r; shade hello holo, circus confetti, night in vegas

NYC expert last nail polish - gramercy glitz
Avon nailwear pro- gold

Sally Hansen complete salon manicure - downtown rubies
Angelica- exposure
Collection bedazzled nail effects- glittersweet

Moving on...
1. Glitter polish is a firm favorite of mine, purely because you can achieve a salon look within seconds. If I have no time for intricate nail art or I want a glam look in seconds, I'll instantly grab for a glitter polish. It's so quick and easy to apply!
2. It can change the look of your nails too. No more one colour talons, glitter nail polish can make your nails look more exciting. Try experimenting with different shades, densities and size- silver on silver, gold on nude- the list is endless!
3. Glitter never really has gone out of fashion, nor will it ever in my opinion! Nail polishes are continuing to improve and develop and I'm certain glitter polish will too. Its something that has the ability to grow whilst being bang on trend.

1. Ok, so we all know by now that glitter nail varnish is like mission impossible to remove. No matter how hard you scrub and rub there always seems to be one annoying flake left. I'm hoping this is something developers can somehow fix in the future!
2. Glitter polish is typically quite opaque, so a base colour is usually needed. Annoying when you only want glitter over nude nails, especially if you're like me [I hate bare nails].
3. Often times the glitter may look great in the bottle, but once applied you get a disappointing two or three flakes of glitter on your nails, so 2 or 3 coats are needed. Thick, gloopy nails are unwanted!

~

So thee you have it. 3 pros, 3 cons- that makes it an even yes/no choice. In my opinion, if the glitter is glam, wear it anyways and worry about the removal process later!

What are your thoughts on glitter nail polish?

Hey everyone!
This is something I am SO excited to post about as I am in love with this gem already. Lately I have been drooling over the Chanel and Céline tshirts that have been all over the web, but of course, couldn't afford a real one. I immediately got out my fabric pen and got creating! Once inspired, ideas came to me right away.

This tshirt is unbelievable simple to make, however it is time consuming, so I suggest you ensure you have time to start and finish it!

- Printout template of the Chanel logo [I used this one]-
- Textile Marker [from the Art & Hobby shop]

Steps;
1. Printout a large copy of the Chanel sign & logo
2. Place the template under a white cotton tshirt. I recommend putting a magazine or something underneath the template so that the marker doesnt run through to the back!
3. Take your textile marker and carefully draw the outline of the sign and logo. You could also use a permanent marker or fabric paint.
4. Colour it in! [this part is veeeeery time consuming if using a marker, so I think fabric paint would be quicker]
5. Wear your Chanel tshirt with pride and pretend its real ;)

The finished product!

If you get stuck, here is a brilliant video to help!

If you decide to make one of your own, I'd love to see! I hope you enjoyed this post and that it somehow inspired you

~

Look out for the t-shirt in action in one of my OOTD during the week! Stay tuned

Hey everyone!

As you probably know it was St. Patricks day on Sunday. St.Patrick happens to be the patron saint of Ireland so there's always lots of parades etc. I, on the other hand, went to the cinema.. Let's just say it's not exactly my favorite holiday. Instead of going all out in emerald clothing and Irish flags painted upon my face, I decided to take a simpler approach to the seasonal tend by painting my nails green instead. Adorned with glitter, of course.

Products used:
NYC In A New York Colour Minute - shade high line green
Essence Nail Art Special Effect Topper - shade 02 circus confetti

I'm not a lover of the colour green anyways and this was typically the only green nail polish I had! The glitter topcoat is new however- I absolutely adore it, although 2 coats are required for a high shine.

Hope you like them! Did you do anything for St. Patricks day? Paint your nails green too, perhaps?

Hey everyone!

This is the outfit I wore on Sunday for Mothers Day [hence the cheesy title, I love Mamma Mia ok]. I hope you all had a lovely day, and treated your mothers the best! We went out for dinner, which was a perfect excuse to fork out my new skirt which has been lying in my wardrobe for a few weeks now. I just had no chance to wear it!

I paired the coral skirt with a plain white knitted sweater and black floral peter-pan collared blouse underneath. Mind you, I was absolutely freezing! [as expected in Ireland, I'm not sure when I'll be able to start wearing more suitable clothes for Spring *sigh*- it even snowed on Monday!]

Skirt- Catch Clothing
Sweater- Primark/Penneys
Collared blouse [underneath] - Primark/Penneys
Shoes- New Look
Tights- Primark/Penneys
Bag- a gift
Belt- Florence & Fred @ Tesco
Hair bow- Funky Munky [although I re-positioned the bow myself]
Rachel Necklace - a gift

P.S-

I would really appreciate if you could nominate my blog in the Company Style Blogger Awards 2013- for 'Best Teen fashion Blogger'! It would mean the world to me. Thank you if you do!

Hey everyone!

I haven't posted a DIY in yonks so I thought it was about time! Although this is something I created a while ago, I never got around to posting a tutorial. It's one of the simplest things I've ever made to be honest!

1. Taking a black bow hairbood, smoothen out the flaps so they're nice and flat.
2. Get out your studs- I bought mine for cheap as chips on eBay, they came from China so took a while to arrive but I got plenty in one pack!
3. In aligned rows, put your studs onto the bow neatly. I arranged mine in rows of fours, threes and twos. You can do whatever design you want though, really. Use a knife to flatten the prongs of the studs.
4. Flaunt your newly designed bow with pride!

Bonjour bloggers!

I'm quite proud of my bedroom, and I adore decorating it. I love adding personal touches here and there, as it really makes it feel special. A bedroom is a place of personal interest, somewhere that belongs to you. I love expressing my love for different things on my wall. I spend most of my time in my bedroom- I do my homework there, watch tv, do my nails, and of course, sleep! I moved to the downstairs room of my house last Summer after years with my sister. I immediately realised I had a knack for interior design! My room was featured in the 'Your Space' section of KISS magazine last year too, which was definitely a compliment after my hard work. So now, I take you on a tour of my bedroom!

from l-r: 1. my main wall consisting of a lady Gaga and fashion collage, 2. Gaga collage close up, 3. fashion collage close up, 4. second Gaga wall, 5. my mirror, Gaga calender and other little bits, 6. my tv & bookshelf, 7. my desk, 8. magazine & book collection, 9. accessories shelf and Gaga shrine[!], 10. close up of concert tickets, 11. my bed, along with my quirky pajama case!, 12. bracelet stand aka a limited edition coke bottle, 13. necklace stand, 14. my messy makeup drawer!, 15. nail polish drawer [around 55-60 polishes in there guys- thats alot!] and 15. skincare drawer.

So there you have it! I love my bedroom to pieces and wouldn't change it for the world. However I do change my fashion posters every season- wouldn't want last seasons fashion on my wall now, would I? :p

Last but not least, the feature in KISS magazines [December issue, 2012] of me and my bedroom.

Hope you like it!

Hey everyone!

A recent obsession of mine is- hand cream. After coming to the realization that my hands were very dry, I went out and bought some new hand lotion. For quite some time now, I had been applying a hand lotion that was too thick, too greasy and just unpleasant. The only reason I used it was because it was the only one available in my house that I could find! I recently read a comparison of different hand creams by Leanne Woodfull of Thunder & Threads and became really interested in the Soap & Glory 'Hand Food' review. I immediately went out to buy it! I couldn't find the full sized version so bought the travel sized one [50ml], as mentioned in that post, instead! At around €4, it was most definitely worth it.

The cream itself is typically white, and consistency wise, its not too thick nor thin. When applied you can feel a difference straight away! It moisturizes and softens your hands, as well as leaving them smelling divine. It's made with shea butter, macadamia oil and marshmallow! Heaven in a bottle. The packaging is insanely cute and kitsch. it looks super girly and quite retro!

This is without a doubt a product I will forever love, and definitely buy over and over again. That is, of course, I find a better hand cream- something i think will be quite impossible! A five star product.

Bonjour Bloggers!

Today I thought I'd post something different to my usual cliche. For a change. I believe in being optimistic, although we all have our pessimistic times, including me! We're 'only human' as they say. There are times when I can feel a bit down in the dumps, or under the weather. Typical teenage moods probably! But it's almost impossible to feel upbeat and bright 24/7.

So, today I'm posting exactly what the title and above picture state- 10 things that make me happy [and why!]
1. Music- Music is everywhere- it's beauty to our ears. I go everywhere with my ipod and earphones, and you'll constantly find me listening to music! I listen to different music depending on my mood. If I'm angry or annoyed, I'll pop on a bit of Paramore, or The Pretty Reckless. If things are a bit gloomy, I'll pour my heart out to some angsty Marina & the Diamonds or husky Lana Del Rey. Listen to your favorites [mine, Lady Gaga!] to real amp up your mood!

2. Reading my favorite book- Yes, I may have read it 3 times, but to me, there's nothing better than reading or reminiscing about my favorite book! Even just an extract, a page, or a paragraph can get me excited. At the moment, it's definitely got to be Catching Fire, the second book in the Hunger Games trilogy- [Finnick Odair is just too perfect of a fictional character ok!]

 3. A hot cup of tea- Sounds SO cheesy and stereotypical Irish, but hey! I'm a big tea drinker- I swear I have at least 3 a day! [that's almost 21 a week.. woah]. I love coming home from school, getting out of my uniform and sitting down in front of the tea with a cuppa.

4. Blogging- of course! I thoroughly enjoy coming online and making posts like this. Reading people's responses to my hard work, and even taking pictures to adorn my posts- I'm proud to say blogging is a hobby of mine, and it really does makes me smile!

5. Dancing- I've been dancing for years now, and its not just the classes I take pleasure in- simply fooling around or practicing dance moves in my kitchen really gets my blood pumping and energy levels up. A hyper person is a happy person!

6. Family & Friends- Surrounding myself with people I love in calm, relaxed situations is always a favorite of mine. Whether it's watching a movie at a friends, or sitting down for dinner with the family, I always have a good laugh.

7. Shopping- Ah, shopping. A bit of 'retail therapy' as I like to call it. Simply window shopping, browsing between rails, trying on outrageous outfits I can't afford nor would ever dare to buy, shopping is a firm favorite of mine to put me in a good mood.

8. Going to concerts- Although I don't often go, attending gigs is something I have a weakness for. What's not to love about seeing your favorite artist in a big [or small!] arena? The electric atmosphere, the people, the shouting, that elated feeling when it's over and you're feet feel like they're going to fall off.. LOVE IT!

9. Dogs- Ok, I think this is a firm favorite of everyone [unless you're scared of dogs?]. I adore my springer spaniel x collie, Misty. She's 3 years old and so naughty, but terribly affectionate and just so.. cuddly! I also admit I have a guilty pleasure of looking at cute puppies on the internet. Come on, how can you NOT like those pug puppies?

10. Food- Quite embarrassing to say, makes me feel like a bit of a fatty! But eating your favorite food, to me, is just unbeatable. It's only after do I sometimes feel a pang of guilt!
_____________

So that's it! One long post later. That is what makes me happy. What makes YOU happy? I'd love to know!

So that's it! One long post later. That is what makes me happy. What makes YOU happy? I'd love to know!

Hello everyone!
Hope everyone is having a good week so far. To be brutally honest, I can't wait for the week to be over! Just feeling quite run down and tired lately, and my dog has been ill. Luckily I have blogging to cheer me up!

Below is a very easy look to achieve. The key when choosing a nude nail polish is to try find a shade close to your natural skintone. I decided to amp things up a bit my mixing two trends - metallics AND nude! Hope you like it :)

Bonjour Bloggers!

I went out shopping (again!) on Sunday and wore this outfit. I love leopard print- it's so 60's yet modern. My bag, as you've probably seen before, matches my hairband, which is why I love this look! The sweater adds a pop of colour to the outfit, and the purple lipstick, leather and Dr. Martens and an air of soft grunge.

& yes, I do realise my face looks ORANGE in this photo, but I swear, it's my dodgy camera! :p

Sweater - Catch
Bag - local boutique
Leather panelled leggings - Primark/Penneys
Leather jacket - Dunnes Stores
Headband - Primark/Penneys
My Rachel necklace - a gift from my grandparents!
Purple lipstick - Inglot
