Hey everyone!
Its easy to say I was delighted when I seen that Essie polishes were going for as little as €2.99 on fragrancedirect.co.uk! I already own one, a silver colour, so I chose this gorgeous cornflower blue and also a bright orange. I found the polish quite opaque, so I applied 2 coats- but as you can see from the pictures above, perhaps a third coat would of been needed. I've had quite a bit of chipping since applying it about 4 days ago, but that's understandable! I love how matte and shiny it is. I decided to throw in a bit of the polka dot bikini look and painted little white dots on my nails. This is super easy, using a dotting tool, or even the tip of a bobby pin.

I hope you like this post, let me know if you try the dotted look out!

Hey everyone!
As an avid magazine reader, I decided I would showcase some of my favorite magazines- a mixture of Irish, British and International. I am literally obsessed with magazines- I buy about 3/4 a month! There's nothing better than flicking through the glossy pages of a fashion bible, lusting over clothes I can't afford and beauty trends I'm desperate to try. Without these little gems, I'd probably be clueless in the world of fashion!

Seeing as I read as many magazines as I do, I'm quite the critic on which ones I like and which ones.. not so much. Although the below are my favorite, some do have their faults!

1. KISS
As you can clearly see from the picture above, KISS magazine is my all time FAVORITE magazine. I have been collecting since August 2010 and not one issue has left my bedroom. I don't believe in throwing out a good magazine- you never know when you might need it! KISS happens to be Ireland's only teen magazine, and at only €2.49 its very popular over here among us teen fashionistas. The clothes they showcase are of course, all Irish and all in euro prices- really handy compared to when I'm reading a British magazine in sterling prices! Not only is it packed with everything fashion and beauty, but the staff at KISS HQ are all so nice too. I was lucky enough to be featured in KISS twice [read my post here]. I'm also doing work experience with them in August, I can't contain my excitement!

I can't not mention the magazine that changed the lives of fashion hopefuls everywhere! Vogue is the magazine i turn to where I can catch up with the latest couture and hits on the runway. I can long for over-prices things and wonder about the eccentric makeup and photography. I find that there's more pictures than writing, so its not a magazine I buy too often- especially since it's €6 a go!

Elle is a magazine I associate with Vogue, purely because of the similar advertisements and covers. However, I actually prefer the articles in Elle! I find them a bit more relatable and well written. I love the style and elegance of it though! Still a bit pricey for me however.

I adore Ireland's newest fashion and beauty magazine. It's base on a TV show of the same on TV3, that's on every day with the latest fashion news. When I heard they were producing a magazine, I was so excited because I religiously watch the show! Luckily, it lived up to my expectations and has definitely become a favorite of mine. Quite like KISS, but aimed more towards adults. However, the cheap and chic fashion showcased in it and newest beauty products are to die for!

Probably my favorite British magazine, Company never fails to disappoint me. I think my favorite thing about is it's quirky and unique layout. It's quite a small magazine, but the doodles and finished inside the not-so-glossy pages are really charming. I love how they feature bloggers every once and again, and the latest music artists. Definitely a great magazine for variety! [*PS- the Company Style Blogger Awards have arrived, and although I wasn't nominated *cries* two of my favorite IRISH blogs Thunder & Threads and Tarmartales made the cut! Vote for them here and fly the Irish flag*]

Of course, there are so many other magazines I enjoy reading, like Stellar and Glamour. Magazines are my bibles!

What do you think? What are your favorite magazines?

Today I went to the Vintage Fashion and Decor Fair in the Burlington Hotel in Dublin. It was brilliant! They had everything from the roaring 20's to the 80's, and there was so many people dolled up. With over 50 stalls, there was plenty of vintage fashion and bits and bobs to choose from. Rather then rambling on, I think its better to show the photos!

Hey everyone,

Exciting news! I FINALLY bought a new camera! It was such a bargain on eBay, I'm absolutely delighted. It's a Fujifilm Finepix S5700- ones that has been described as a 'mini DSLR'. I've only had it a few days and I'm still learning the ropes but I'm getting the hang of it quickly. Hopefully my pictures will be alot clearer, and I'll be able to try more exciting new posts!

Anyways, I've had quite the love for daisies and flowers lately. They remind me of fun-filled Summers, something I use to inspire me when the going gets tough [especially now that exams are coming up]. This nail art design is cute and cheerful, perfect for Spring and the upcoming Summer!

1. Items used: Sally hensen hard as nails, Essence nude glam, nail art pen from Hairspray, NYC yellow
2. Paint your nails two coats of nude nail polish. I used Essence nude glam because its almost identical to my skin colour, something I think makes it look lest clashy and more classy!
2. Using a dotting tool, or the end of a bobby pin, paint three yellow dots in the corner of your nails. I painted four on the thumbs!
3. Taking your white nail art pen or an old eyeliner brush, draw small little lines [so small they're almost dots] surrounding the yellow dots to make daisies. Don't worry if they join up a bit- this makes it look like a daisy chain, which is even prettier in my opinion!

Voila! I hope you enjoyed this cute and easy tutorial.

Hello everyone!

Back again with another review. I'm back at school now so I won't have alot of time for outfit posts! I'm going to post a poll at the end of this post, as I'm curious to see what you as readers like to read about here on Oh Hey There Rachel!

Moving swiftly along, I recently purchases this mascara after getting my contact lenses. After reading the instruction booklet, which mentioned to ensure your makeup was in date, I realised I HAD been using the same mascara for a few months.. Not good! I guess I was a little bit attached to my Soap n Glory mascara.. So I went out and bought a new one, something that has been going through the roof in blogosphere lately!

At €11.99 retailing price, I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend alot on something I had read mixed reviews about, but I caught it at a sale price of only €9.99. I am absolutely loving it 2 weeks later! It really does give great volume, but unfortunately not alot of lengthening- it is a volume mascara I guess! I was particularly impressed on the way it looks on the bottom lashes- no clumping, no mess, something I come across alot with mascara applied to the bottom lashes. Just enough product comes out on the relatively thin brush too- not too much, not too little. I am so glad I picked up this little gem!

the packaging is a fab shade of blue- like my nails!

the small-ish brush with small bristles

Have you tried it yet?

P.S- What kind of posts do you like to read most? Or leave a suggestion for something new I could start writing about!

Hey everyone!
Sorry about the lack of recent posts. I had planned to go to a €4 second hand designer sale on Sunday, and also queue some blog posts, but I passed out Sunday morning and was ill all day. Terrifying, seeing as I have a phobia of fainting! -Sigh-

On the brighter side of things, I'm feeling alot better today but taking it easy. Time to get blogging!

The perspex trend is a very daring one. At first when I seen these transparent accessories ruling the runway, I was a bit dubious. Why on EARTH would I want people snooping on my items or having a peep at my feet?

Rules of perspex;
1. Try not put valuable items such as an iPhone on view- unless you want to get robbed!
2. Perhaps keep the 'embarrassing' items at home..

How to wear perspex [safely!];
1. If you have a clear bag, try a nude coloured pouch inside to store valuables and your bits and bobs.
2. OR, if you're rocking some coloured plastic, match the purse/pouch to the bag. Experiment with colours!

Hey everyone!
I was sent out a load of Nivea Daily Essentials samples a while back but still haven't got around to trying them all out! I also picked up some Vichy, La Roche-Posay and Lancome samples in store, so  thought I'd write a quick review on three products I have started using already.

Lancôme Visionnaire Advanced Skin Correcter;

This is the first skin correcter by Lancôme, promising to correct wrinkles, pores and evenness within 4 weeks. Being a 15 year old girl, I don't exactly HAVE an wrinkles, so I can;t say if it improves the appearance of them or not! However, I was intrigued to see if it really would minimise my pores and even out the colour of my skin. I'm pleased to say, it did! Although results weren't as obvious as I'd hoped for, my skin colour had evened out quite a bit. My pores didn't look very minimised though. At €70 for a full sized bottle, there's just no way I would pay for a product that i guess really just isn't for me! I would recommend it to the older genre of women out there to try.

Nivea Regenerating Night Cream;

I am a BIG fan of Nivea products and their Daily Essentials collection is one of my absolute favorites. I was delighted when Nivea UK sent me out a few samples to put to the test! One of the first things I immediately went for was the Regenerating Night Cream- simply because I was on the look out for a new night moisuriser anyways. It reminds me of their Day Cream [which I reviewed here]- same creamy but light consistency and white colour. My skin definitely felt alot better in the mornings, alot softer and fresher. I can't wait to go out and buy a full bottle! Might I also mention it smells divine?!

Vichy Aera Teint Pure

I adore this fluid foundation! As you can see from the picture above, the sample is empty- it was well worth the use! The shade matched my skin perfectly and it glided onto my skin so easily. The coverage was brilliant- something I wasn't expecting seeing as it looked a bit thin coming out of the package. Although I have enough foundation to last me for a couple of months, I may consider buying this when I'm finished.

Bonjour bloggers!

I'm back again today with yet another nail post. As you can see, I've quite the obsession! A friend of mine from school's mother sells Avon, so I picked up a catalogue and had a browse. I ordered alot of things, as I was very impressed at the variety of products they had to offer and the prices were great too. This little gem was less than €5 for sure [ I can't remember how much exactly!] and it's definitely well worth the money.

First Impressions:
Reasonable price, sleek packaging and an outstanding shade of blue [ I bought cosmic blue].

First Application:
I foudn the brush a bit too thin, so not alot of product came out and I had to return to dip in for more. After one application, it was very sheer and opaque.

Final Verdict:
Two coats would definitely be enough for this product, but for a brilliant colour I suggest 3!It still hasn't chipped  [a day later] so it will be interesting to see what it will be like after a day or two more! I will definitely be buying more of these!

[the smudged part on my pinkie was MY fault- accidently bumped it off the desk, oops!}

Hey everyone! I went out to the local shopping centre to pick up my new contact lenses. I have been on a five day trial, and I absolutely love them! Honestly, it did take me quite a while to get used to putting them in and taking them out, but each day I'm getting quicker- and better! I'm going out this evening too so I thought this outfit was perfect for a dressy-casual look. The skull blouse was a bargain- €10! I'm loving the digital style prints that are bang on trend at the moment, so I fell in love with this as soon as I laid my eyes on it.

Hope you like it!

Hey everyone!

This look is SO easy to achieve- especially if you're a newb to nail art. It doesn't require a particularly steady hand either!

Items used;
Hairspray neon pink
Essie silver chrome
Kiss nail art pen in black

Steps;
1. Paint your nails silvers- this is the easy part!
2. Starting at the left hand corner of your nails, paint a diagonal stripe with the pink and fill it in- so half of your nails are now pink [but at a diagonal]
3. Grab your black nail art pen. If you don't have one, just take normal black polish and use an old eyeliner brush instead! Paint a black line separating the silver and pink.

Easy as 1-2-3!
