Hey everyone,
Every Summer, there's one trend that catches my eye- and this year, it's the beloved boho style. Over the holidays I'll be taking inspiration from the 70s, Stevie Nicks and Free People's Pinterest page (seriously, you should check it out, there are so many beautiful images on it!). One trend that I've noticed in the windows of many a shop, however, is the off-the-shoulder or 'bardot' top. Getting it's name from 60s icon, Brigitte Bardot, the Bardot top is effortless yet stylish. There's just something about off the shoulder tops that I can't put my finger on. They make me feel glamorous, I guess!

I'm still trying to find the right pair for me, and I'm hoping I find my dream pair before Christmas. Over the knee boots can be quite a tricky trend to master- a lot of people fear that they'll make them look shorter. If worn a certain way, they can actually elongate your legs!
There are so many ways you can wear thigh high boots, so there's certainly a look to suit everyone. My favorite way to style them is with an over-sized knit and a slouchy shoulder bag- effortlessly chic! Or you could wear them with an equally bang on trend blanket cape. Your favorite little black black dress and a cute clutch. Skinny jeans and a sweater- the possibilities are endless!

The over the knee boot has been everywhere lately, and I've been lusting after a pair for so long! I'm still trying to find the right pair for me, and I'm hoping I find my dream pair before Christmas. They were first noticed this season when models like Cara Delevingne and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wore their embroidered ones by Burberry. Since then, the blanket cape has exploded all over the fashion world, and luckily for us- they're getting easier to find! I've searched the high-street from top to bottom and found a few of my favorites. I've also included some high street inspiration, as I know it might seem like it could be difficult to wear- trust me, it's not! The trusty cape can be worn in many ways; like with a mini and knee high boots. Thrown over a long sleeved tee and skinnies. Slung over your shoulders under a coat. The list is endless!

Believe it or not, I recently found my dream blanket cape at Warehouse, which you can see below! I'll have an outfit post up by the end of the week showing you how I personally styled it. I've also found a gorgeous red tartan one from New Look, continuing on from last season's popular tartan trend. Asos and H&M both have a monochrome option, a timeless colour combination that will go with anything in your wardrobe.

It's been a while since I've written a 'Trend Talk' post [you can read my first one here] so I thought- what better time to write another one than autumn/winter? A/W fashion has definitely got to be one of my favorite fashion seasons. Comfy sweaters, boots, hats.. Not to mention that September is like, the January of the fashion world. One September, I'll be at London Fashion Week, you wait!
One of the trends that has caught my eye recently has definitely been tartan. Usually paired with some grunge, I can only insist that this look is due to be big this season. Yes, it MAY just remind you a bit of your school skirt [or kilt if you're super lucky like me..] but paired with the right accessories, I think this look is totally something I would wear.
Big on the catwalks of Celiné, Marc Jacobs and Moschino, who have brought trad tartan to life, this trend is definitely for the fashion conscious! My favorite way to style a staple item like one of those below, is with leather boots and chunky chain necklaces. I've already spied a gorgeous tartan dress in Penneys/Primark for only €17! Think Scottish kilts with a bit of Courtney Love- edgy, witty and modern. If grunge isn't your thing, try a preppy plaid pinafore with lace socks. Too girly? Throw a denim jacket over a tartan dress and cowboy style boots for some chilled out vibes. The list is endless- it just depends how YOU eye it up.
Below are my favorite tartan picks from high street stores. Although red is a common colour, dont be afraid to challenge colours like navy, forest green and and burnt orange.

Today I decided to try a new segment that I hope will be a recurring event- a look into the latest trends that ruling the catwalk and taking the people by storm. This week, I head full blast into space with the holographic trend.
Think oil spills and space suits and rainbows all mixed into one. Gunmetal. Silver. Rose gold. The options are limitless. Lets take a look at the trend on the runway, and how to go holo this Spring.

I am absolutely LOVING the trend! Its very daring and not for the light hearted, but i'm definitely willing to give it a go. I love the shoes and clutches- it looks like a great way to dazzle up any outfit. A favorite of mine are these shoes from Schuh [which you can buy here] as they are cheap, cheerful and catwalk ready!
