It's official- Autumn dressing has officially begun. The denim skirt has been doing the rounds for a while now, particularly the A-Line mini one. Whilst in Lisbon, I picked up this gorgeous midi length one from Stradivarius. I always head there when I'm on holidays, because the prices are amazing! As an avid skirt wearer, it may come as a surprise to some that I actually don't own that any midi skirts. Honestly, I'm not sure why- they make me feel great. Don't you just love clothes that do that? Clothes that make you feel special, that make you think hey, that was definitely worth the money!

Seeing as it's been over a week since I lasted posted, I figured a small explanation for my absence was due! My only reasoning is that: life happened. These past few weeks have been insanely busy for me- I got my exam results, got offered a place at university, and most recently had my debs last night (or prom for you non-Irish folk!). Not only that but my laptop has been extremely slow lately, I'm still interning three days a week and I've also had a few press events and nights out with friends. I've been fairly quiet on social media as a whole, really, but sometimes that's ok. As someone who is utterly obsessed with the likes of Twitter and Instagram, it's nice to take a step back every now and then!

Thankfully I'll have a lot to blog about next month, as September is when the new season collections come in, which I'm so excited for- I love Autumn so much, eek! I'm also looking forward to starting college, and seeing Florence + The Machine in early September. Basically, I have a lot to keep me busy!

What have you been up to lately?

I'm not entirely sure why, but lately I've been loving that minimal, thrown-together look. Basic pieces, lots of grey and black and layering- I love it all! This Autumn I'll be trying to incorporate a bit of minimalism into my look by purchasing pieces that can be reworn in Winter too. Shop my favourites below...

In other news, my laptop is being extremely uncooperative lately hence the lack of posting.. Not only that, but you may have seen on Instagram that I received my exam results last week, and to say I'm delighted would be an understatement. I exceeded my own expectations and got 75 points more than what I need for my course!

Today's outfit post is a short one, simply because my camera died after 10 minutes- what's new? August is shaping up to be a very busy and hectic month for me- from exam results on Wednesday, university offers five days after and debs (prom) in two weeks. Not to mention the press events, family time and interning on top of that! So today I'm spending my lazy Sunday blogging and watching movies- might as well relish in my free time while  have it.

I'm feeling quite anxious about my results, purely because the Summer seems to have made me lose focus. I can't recall how good my performance in the exams were, and I have no clue whether or not to start college this year, or defer for the year. Hopefully everything falls into place over the next few days!

  1. The view from my bedroom in the little village we stayed in near the city of Tours in France. I just thought the ivy around the window looked super artsy, in all honestly...
  2. My outfit for Festival Beauregard- I've been loving flares recently, and I picked these up in a Dublin market. They're so comfortable! I also wore my Alice Halliday headpiece and Penneys accessories.
  3. Seeing Florence + The Machine live at the festival for the first time was UH-MAZING. I've been a fan for years, and we managed to get front row. It was such a crazy but wonderful experience, and French music festivals beat Irish ones by a mile!
  4. An outfit I styled on one of the first days of my fashion styling internship with Siopaella. I fell in love with this little black dress and Carvela heels instantly.
  5. Another outfit I styled with Siopaella- I'm not usually a green fan but I really like this combo!
  6. One of my looks from sunny Lisbon.. We were off to the beach that day so I wanted something easy to throw on over my bikini, and this bardot style top from Penneys is my new favorite.
  7. A snap of the ceiling of our apartment. The interior was absolutely amazing, and I have a slight obsession with beautiful ceilings...
  8. Looking out onto the beach at Cascais, and I remember thinking in that moment how scary the vastness of the sea is. Beautiful, alright, but frightening!
  9. A small haul from our one day of shopping in Lisbon- I headed straight to Stradivarius and Pull & Bear as I always find their clothes over there are much cheaper! I'll have an outfit up soon with these two pieces, so watch this space...
  10. I went to the Parfois Backstage dinner last week, and this was one of my favorite pieces from the new F/W collection. Sequin clutches? Yes please!
  11. A coffee date with my mam on a rainy afternoon- one of the best caramel macchiatos I've had to be honest.
  12. Last but not least, a #FromWhereIStand shot of my look- which will also be appearing on my blog very soon!

'Me time' is something I believe everyone should have, but it's something I haven't had enough of lately. After coming home last night after a busy week interning, I just felt quite drained and overwhelmed. So I did something for myself- I had a relaxing bath, had a Skype catch up with Zoë and just let myself relax. Our lives can get so busy and jumbled without us noticing. Our heads are constantly filled with reminders and notes and ideas. I truly believe that having some down time can really make a difference to your week!

This outfit was shot in Lisbon last week, back when I was dying from the heat and slightly too sunburnt. Although I actually hate extreme heat, these pictures are really making me want to go back! This outfit is quite simple, for me anyway. No accessories, just a pair of dungarees and a slightly sweaty looking hairstyle. In others words- minimal.
