Hey everyone,

I'm currently writing this sitting in an Irish pub in the heart of Barcelona, Spain. Funny isn't it- we can never escape our roots, no matter how far away we are! I checked my social media this lovely Halloween afternoon to see that I had come first place in midough.com's teen blogging competition, winning an iPad Mini worth €250. I honestly can't believe it, I never win anything in regards to my blog! I've had some highs and lows this year and what with the leaving cert approaching, this was such a lovely surprise.

Thanks so much to the team at MiDough for picking me as the overall winner, and congrats to the other finalists too. I guess hard work always pays off in the end!

I fly home tomorrow morning, so fear not- posting will begin again this week! Thank you all for continuing to follow and read my blog, and I hope you all have a fabulous (and safe!) Halloween. I won't be celebrating it this year while abroad, so have fun for me!

 Hey everyone,

Due to the popularisation of that nude lip by Kylie Jenner, lately I've found myself embracing the nude and reaching for it more often. I won't lie- I'm a bright berry girl through and through, but one can only imagine the reaction I'd get if I turned up at school wearing red lippie! My current favourite nude lip combination isn't very overdrawn-90s-lip-as worn by Kylie, but more of a glossier, natural version. I absolutely adore this peachy pink lipstick by Kate Moss for Rimmel in the shade 03. It's long lasting and oh-so creamy on the lips, not to mention it's super cheap price!

I often like to finish this look off with a slick of gloss for some high shine- and NYX is the perfect gloss for me. I reviewed the infamous butterglosses* here  and this particular shade, 'tiramisu*' tops this nude lip combo off perfectly.

Have you got a go-to nude lip?

P.S- I'm heading to Barcelona on Sunday so posting might be a tad slow here for a week- make sure to follow me via social media (links in right sidebar) for some up to date snaps!

Hey everyone,

I was sorting through some old photos and I came across these outfit shots I took a month or two ago and completely forgot to share with you! It was during that awkward time when Summer was yet to leave, but it was not yet Autumn. That said, it definitely seems like something I could still wear now. I thrifted these Kurt Geiger shoes for a mere €3, and the frilly socks just look super cute with it, don't you think? I decided to mix textures by wearing two different finishes of leather- my patent skirt from River Island and trusty jacket from Penneys. Since these pictures were taken, my hair has changed colour- yay! There's not much of a difference but I'm finally free from failed ombré attempts, and I've gone for an all over mahagony-purple-brown.

Clothes aside, Gaga was amazing on Friday, as expected! I queued for 7 hours and ended up about 5 or 6 rows from the front so it was totally worth it. Seeing my idol on stage for the first time in two years made me really overwhelmed, but I'd do anything to go back-sigh.

Shirt, jacket & socks- Penneys/Primark
Skirt- River Island
Shoes- Kurt Geiger, thrifted
Necklace- Eleanor Hall Jewellery*

What do you think about wearing double (even triple, including my shoes!) leather?

Hey everyone,

Being a blogger, naturally I read A LOT of blogs. There's nothing I love more than catching up on hundreds of blog posts on my Bloglovin' app before bed. For those of you who love reading blogs, Bloglovin' is definitely (in my opinion) the best way to follow and read your favorite blogs (you can read mine here if you want! shameless self promotion..). Seeing as I read some really beautifully written blogs, I thought I would share with you my most loved! This will be a regular feature here on my blog, as I personally love discovering new blogs, and I have so many to show you all.

Olivia's blog is just the epitome of class- from her beautiful photos, to her gorgeous style. If I could dress like her every day, I totally would! Her blog is a mixture of  lifestyle and fashion posts, but she manages to make everything look insanely glamorous and oh-so pretty. It's my goal in life to replicate her beehive successfully! (you can see my attempt here)

The first thing that strikes me about Carrie's blog whenever I visit it is her amazing layout. The design is so kitsch and cute- I absolutely adore it! Her content is also an amazing standard, and I'm really envious of her super clear images. Her blog covers everything from fashion to beauty to travel posts, so I'd highly check out her blog if you like a bit of variety and some inspiration.

Where do I begin with Katie's blog- I only discovered it this Summer, but my world has definitely changed for the better since then. Katie is an incredible writer, not just a blogger- and she also happens to be in a band. In the past week she's hit 1 million views whilst juggling her everyday life- major kudos to her! If you're looking for some thought provoking posts that will make you laugh and smile and cry, then you need to click on to her blog. Like, now!

Zoe is one of my all time favorite bloggers without doubt. Formally known as 'thelondonlipgloss', Zoe relaunched her blog this year, and ever since then she's been going from strength to strength. Her posts are so informative, so well written, and just so amazing in general! Zoe has been a huge inspiration to me, not just in the blogging world but in  life too. Again, she covers a wide range of topics including her top beauty tips, her amazing style and some inspirational advice. Her personality really shines through in her posts- can we be BFFs already please?

So there you have it! 4 of my favorite blogs. Let me know if you check any of them out, and leave your most-read blogs below!

Hey everyone,

Apologies for the lack of posting over the past few days! Over the weekend I had a lot of homework to catch up on, and also an 18th birthday to attend which naturally left me exhausted. I have a history project due on Friday, and it just seems to be taking me ages to complete. I'm doing mine on the early years of Mary Queen of Scots, because of my obsession with the TV drama 'Reign'! Not only that, but I'm going to see Lady Gaga on Friday, and if you follow me on social media- you'll know how much of a fan I am! It's been two years since I last saw her live, and myself and my friend have plans to queue extremely early. Like 9 hours before doors open early..

Anyways, when Autumn comes around I love digging out my favorite berry nail polishes again. This particular one is called 'deep wine' and it's from the Gel-Look Shine collection by No7. I love it! The gold polish is one of my most worn polishes- 'gilded lily' by Sally Hansen. I realise this particular nail art actually looks quite Christmas-y, but oh well!

What have you been up to lately? Tell me in the comments below!

Hey everyone,

In my latest post about the blanket cape trend, I mentioned how I picked up this beaut- so finally, here's how I styled it! I bought it in the Warehouse section in Clerys Department Store with a press day voucher, and I'm honestly in love with it. It's such a wearable and timeless piece, and I can see myself featuring it in a lot of outfits this season! The knee-high boots actually belong to my Mam, as does the necklace, but I'm really lusting after a pair of over the knee boots. They just look amazing with these kind of capes, in my opinion! However, these vintage boots are super comfortable and in perfect condition.

I only just realised how thick my hair looks in these photos- agh! I'm booked in to get my hair done tomorrow, so I'm hoping it turns out ok. I'm going for a colour change.. nothing major, but watch this space!

Blanket cape- Warehouse, c/o Clerys*
Trousers- Zara, thrifted
Boots- vintage via my mam!
Bag & top (worn underneath)- Penneys/Primark
Necklace & sunglasses- unknown, also belonging to my mam!

Hey everyone,

A trend I've been really loving lately is 'the blanket cape'. They were first noticed this season when models like Cara Delevingne and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wore their embroidered ones by Burberry. Since then, the blanket cape has exploded all over the fashion world, and luckily for us- they're getting easier to find! I've searched the high-street from top to bottom and found a few of my favorites. I've also included some high street inspiration, as I know it might seem like it could be difficult to wear- trust me, it's not! The trusty cape can be worn in many ways; like with a mini and knee high boots. Thrown over a long sleeved tee and skinnies. Slung over your shoulders under a coat. The list is endless!

Believe it or not, I recently found my dream blanket cape at Warehouse, which you can see below! I'll have an outfit post up by the end of the week showing you how I personally styled it. I've also found a gorgeous red tartan one from New Look, continuing on from last season's popular tartan trend. Asos and H&M both have a monochrome option, a timeless colour combination that will go with anything in your wardrobe.

Hey everyone,

Here's the second set of photos Zoë took for me during our stay at Lusty Beg Island- I'm pretty happy at how they turned out! Just a warning: I'm wearing no makeup bar mascara in these images, as I was just about to head for my facial in the spa! I know it's not a big deal for some, but as someone who feels a lot more comfortable wearing makeup, it's a bit weird seeing myself without it.

That said, I'm still in love with this outfit. You might remember the skirt from my recent Penneys haul (which you can read here). I paired it with my favorite pink fluffy jumper, which reminded me of Cher's fluffy pen from the movie Clueless- hence the blog post title. Also, a quick thank you to my friend Ciara who let me borrow her super cute necklace for the day!

Hey everyone,

A few weeks ago I headed into Dublin to The Morgan Hotel, for a glamourous night out. Vaseline are celebrating over 140 years in the business- believe it or not, it was first discovered in 1859! I'm sure you all know by now that Vaseline is a renowned product for its healing powers and can be found in most homes. The event was super fun (seeing as I'm a huge vintage lover) and I really enjoyed the vintage cocktails, getting my hair done in victory rolls and beautiful false lashes.

Vaseline are relaunching their hand, body and lip range to celebrate this momentous occasion, and they have designed four vintage-style tins for their famous lip products. I personally love how soft Vaseline makes my lips feel, and also how soothing it is. Not only that, but it's quick, effective and so cheap too!

Thinkhouse have kindly given me four of these vintage lip tins to give away: original, aloe vera, cocoa butter and rosy lips. One lucky winner will win all four! To enter, use the Rafflecopter widget below;

Open to residents of Ireland and the UK only. The competition will end on Friday- may the odds be ever in your favour!

Hey everyone,

Today's outfit posts were taken by my blogging friend Zoë- as usual! I absolutely love the quality of her camera and I can't wait to get my new one for Christmas. December 25th can't come quick enough for me! If you read my post about Lusty Beg Island, you'll know we headed out for dinner one of the nights, and here is what I wore! I decided to go for a very timeless, vintage look, and 3 of my pieces were vintage. It's amazing how some styles never go out of fashion, isn't it?! Lusty Beg provided a beautiful backdrop for these photos, and I do wish I had some nice scenery to pose in front of every day.

Now that October has arrived, press events seem to have quietened down a bit, so I've been (attempting) to keep on top of homework. Balancing blogging and school is quite hard I must admit, but I'm determined to pursue my blog- even if my posts are less frequent!
