life
Ah, November. Christmas is just around the corner, deadlines are approaching and I spent a bit too much money in October. November had its ups and downs; I've been under a lot of pressure with college, but I also headed abroad for a few days to visit my friend Leah in The Netherlands, which was a well needed break. I landed a part-time reporting shift at the Dublin People media group, primarily working for the Southside People. Exciting! One of the highlights of the month was seeing Maren Morris live at The Academy- Maren has got to be one of my favourite artists this year! See what else I got up to this month below...

This month I..

Wore these outfits;
1) Fortune Black tee, Bershka Jacket, 2) Siopaedit knit, Penneys skirt 3) Topshop knit, Bershka gilet (old), 4) Zara culottes, Bershka velvet top

Went to these events;
 1) Just Eat national takeaway awards in Number 22, 2) L'oreal PRO ID Artist press event, 3) Launch of the pop up dairy bar by the Irish Dairy Company with Binky & JP from MIC, 4) COS S/S18 press day

Travelled to... The Netherlands;
Rotterdam, The Hague and Amsterdam in 3 days!

Watched;
  • Alias Grace (Netflix)
  • The Sinner (Netflix)
  • Murder on the Orient Express (in theaters now)

Seeing as it's been over a week since I lasted posted, I figured a small explanation for my absence was due! My only reasoning is that: life happened. These past few weeks have been insanely busy for me- I got my exam results, got offered a place at university, and most recently had my debs last night (or prom for you non-Irish folk!). Not only that but my laptop has been extremely slow lately, I'm still interning three days a week and I've also had a few press events and nights out with friends. I've been fairly quiet on social media as a whole, really, but sometimes that's ok. As someone who is utterly obsessed with the likes of Twitter and Instagram, it's nice to take a step back every now and then!

Thankfully I'll have a lot to blog about next month, as September is when the new season collections come in, which I'm so excited for- I love Autumn so much, eek! I'm also looking forward to starting college, and seeing Florence + The Machine in early September. Basically, I have a lot to keep me busy!

Hey everyone,

As you might have noticed, my posting pattern has been really irregular lately- and by irregular, I mean infrequent. I've been harping on for the past month about exams, and the time is finally approaching (4 days to be precise!). I've varied from being overly relaxed to having many random breakdowns over the past month and I honestly just can't wait for the Leaving Cert to be over. I've been so exhausted lately, not to mention the apparent lack of time and motivation for blogging. I'm so excited to get back into the swing of things this Summer, and let me tell you- I have a lot of plans!

I'm planning to redesign my layout again, because I'm really not in love with my current one. I know I only redesigned it recently but it was a very spur of the moment decision. This time, it's going to be extremely well thought out, and very me! I hope to do a lot more outfit posts, and also branch out int different topics like travel posts and restaurant reviews. As soon as I get a bigger memory card, I'll hopefully be making Youtube videos! If you've been reading my blog for a while now you may remember the time I attempted Youtube before- but those videos are long gone, they were just awful. This time I'll be doing lookbooks, vlogs.. and whatever else you guys would like to see!

I'm also heading to France this Summer, which I'm super excited about! I can't wait to get out of the country, to experience new people and cultures- travel really is a magical thing. Not only that, but I also have a trial for a fashion styling internship in one of my favourite shops in Dublin- I can't believe it!

So that's it! A little update on my current and future plans. I promise I'll be back with a bang after these pesky exams!

Do you have any plans this Summer? Good luck to those sitting exams too!

Hey everyone,

This is the first time I've made one of these posts, however they appear to be quite popular among bloggers, so I thought I'd try it out! The majority of these photos are from Instagram- don't forget to follow me @ohheythererachel ! September was quite a busy month, with a few events, a concert, and of course, BACK TO SCHOOL! Hopefully October will be busier and better than ever.

Paramore concert @ the O2
My outfit for The DFF Galaxy Movie Night
Some delish cupcakes from the event!
Myself and my friends all dolled up for results night

Receiving my cute package from Jasper Jewellery
Bought Haim's new album Days Are Gone [check it out, they're awesome!]
Watching a fashion show in Liffey Valley Shopping Centre
... and BEST YOUTH BLOG FINALIST!

That's right, you heard it- guess who's a finalist for Best Youth Blog in the Blog Awards Ireland 2013? Lil' old me! I was literally in shock when I found out. To be dwindled down from 40 to the top 5 is a huge honour for me. I started blogging for fun last Christmas, and since then it's been a rollercoaster. I've met some amazing people and found out alot about myself during the way. As a teen blogger, it's often hard to get noticed by other bloggers, and taken seriously by PRs and Companies. Its safe to say that alot has changed, and people are finally starting to realise that us youth's are just as good as people twice our age!

Congratulations to those who are finalists too. It was great to see some of my favorite blogs on there, and disappointing to see those that weren't.

Hey everyone!

With school, college and work starting back for most of us this September, it can often be hard to focus on the positive things in life. I'm not sure about any of you guys, but as soon as I think of Summer, I get frustrated! Long gone are the hours of endless freedom and roaming, and back to routine we go. I'm a generally positive person- I try to be upbeat even if I'm the contrary inside. And so, this September, I've decided to ATTEMPT but all my back-to-school gloom away. Will it work? Who knows! It's normal to have a bad day, but here are my 6 tips on how to be more positive and live a happier school year.

1. Give back- We all get that fuzzy feeling inside when somebody does something nice for us, right? Sometimes it's nice to return a favour, or surprise someone with a gift. Research shows that when we do something nice for someone, it releases dopamine, the "happy hormone". So not only is it good for them, but its good for us too! It doesn't even have to be a physical gift- smiling is contagious you know!

2. Set goals- Personally, I love making lists. I love writing on crisp stationary. I love being organised. Even writing this list is something I'm enjoying! I think if you dream about your future, believe in yourself and try your hardest, dreams can come true. Sounds cheesy, I know, but even if you make a list of where you'd like to see yourself in 10 years, and have a little faith, who knows? It could be a self fulfilling prophecy.

3. Have confidence- Something that definitely holds me back alot of the time is my lack of confidence. Although I have regained alot of the confidence I lost years ago, [especially seeing your nice comments on my blog!] I still find myself cringing a little in awkward situations. Even if you do lack confidence, my top tip is to fake it! Pretend you have confidence, and the world will think you do- including yourself. Be unique, don't give into peer pressure, do what you want, stand out, don't care about what people think of you. Be happy and proud of who you are. ~'cos baby you were born this way~

4. Write down- ..your funniest moments, most embarrassing situations, generous gestures, nicest compliments in a notebook. Anything that made you smile or laugh at the time! When you're feeling blue, or having a bad day, take it out and reread them. For me, reading through my old blog posts and my blog comments is enough to make me happy.

5. Surround yourself- ..with happy people, happy books, happy movies. Do things you enjoy, not what your friends or family want you to do. Don't dwell on the sad things in life- however it's never good to keep everything bottled in, so if watching The Notebook is enough to make you spill buckets and feel instantly better, then watch it! Don't be a negative nelly!

6. Stop counting flaws- Look at yourself in the mirror and notice what you like, what makes you different. Don't focus on what you used to hate. Think of your differences as a good thing. Accept yourself and your body! This is something that I have only recently come to terms with myself. Some people may never be happy with themselves, others may figure it out quicker. Yes, there's things I'd like to change about myself, but honestly I'll learnt to just not care! I'm happy, and that's all that matters.

I really hope you've enjoyed this blog post and found it helpful in the slightest. I know it's quite different from my usual posts, so let me know what you think! You can read about 10 things that make me happy here.
