Hey everyone,
I recently had the pleasure of attending the launch of the new products in the Vichy Dermablend range. Vichy are a French brand that I have been loving for quite some time now, and they're a firm favorite of my grandmother too! Dermablend has been around since 1981, and is the number 1 coverage brand recommended by dermatologists in the US, but they've recently added some new products to the range- exciting! The background story to it is actually quite interesting. A doctor created for his wife, who suffered from facial vitiligo, and in 2003 it became available to buy worldwide.
4 new products are joining the original fluid corrective foundation: a compact cream foundation, corrective stick, total body corrective fluid and setting powder. After seeing the foundation put into action, I was extremely excited to try it out myself. I'm usually a medium coverage kinda girl, but there are definitely days when I would love a bit more cover. All products in the Dermablend range promise to give high coverage, lasting power for up to 12 hours, and they're also hypoallergenic too.
Zombie Boy, whose tattoos were covered using Dermablend as shown on the left. Mindblowing!
I've been testing the range out since attending the launch in Dublin 2 weeks, and I am absolutely loving it! The fluid corrective foundation* is the one I grab the most. I got the shade 15 opal in all products, as I have extremely pale skin, and although it is a tiny bit darker than I would usually go for, it blends seamlessly into the skin. Not only that, but with the liquid foundation in particular, I don't feel the need to apply concealer or primer! Perfect for those days when you just want to hurry out the door. It really does last all day, which I love, seeing as I want to be covered throughout the school day! €21.50 for 30ml
my before and after with the fluid foundation
As you can see from the swatches below, the corrective stick* looks a tad darker than the others, so I prefer to apply this before my foundation. This has the highest amount of pigment out of all the products in the range! It masks my spots and blemishes perfectly, and I can definitely see why people with skin problems would love this. €16.95 for 4.5g
Up until trying the compact cream foundation*, I had never used a compact foundation before! I've been using my flat foundation brush with this rather than the sponge, but the compact and sponge are so handy to keep in your handbag or schoolbag throughout the day. I don't feel this lasts as long as the fluid foundation, but that's not that big of a deal. €24.50 for 9.5g
The setting powder* is one of my favorites in the range- it mattifies my skin which tends to get oily, and also makes my makeup last so much longer! I've tried a few loose powders before but this is by far my favorite. If you have oily or combination skin, or just despise looking shiny, I would definitely suggest checking this out. €20 for 28g
The last product in the range is the total body foundation*. I'm going to be completely honest- this isn;t a product I can see myself using very much in the near future. This was demonstrated on a model by covering up her tattoos, and I was blown away by the coverage, but I don't have any particular body marks I want to conceal. Perhaps I might give it a try on the spots on my back if I'm wearing a backless dress in the near future! €25 for 100ml
Items marked with a * were sent to me for consideration. All views are my own! Read my full disclaimer here.
What a coincidence! I got the fluid foundation a few days ago and I like it so far. I am very pale and it actually blends really well on my skin and it doesn't look like I am wearing a mask or something! ^^

It is quite clever of them to use 'Zombie Boy' as a showcase! Lovely review. (:

ReplyDeleteI am in love with these products, in particular the powder cause it's fantastic. I went to the event they did in London and it made me really fall in love with Vichy as a brand.
