As an avid foodie, there's nothing I love more than trying out a new restaurant in Dublin. When you're a full time student and live off a part time wage, however, eating out regularly can get expensive. I've put together five of my favourite restaurants in Dublin that serve delicious food and won't break the bank either. Whether you're looking for somewhere to go with your friends or on a date, I've got you covered! (PS- they're all worthy a try even if you're not a student too!)
1. Captain Americas
Grafton Street
No student friendly guide would be complete without Captain Americas. Yes, I'll admit I was a frequent visitor during my first year of college. Renowned for their midweek €3 cocktails and special offers, Captain Americas is a great place to go if you're just heading for a casual meal with friends.
Try: the cajun chicken burger & vanilla coke cocktails.

2. Mexico To Rome
Essex Street, Temple Bar
Mexico To Rome is without doubt one of my favourites on this list. I've been heading there for a few years now with my family, but only started to appreciate its value for money when a group of us visited a few months ago. Mexico To Rome is exactly what the name suggests- a Mexican and Italian food hybrid. Sounds a bit mad, but tastes amazing.
Try: the early bird menu for €13.95, consisting of a starter, main and glass of wine/soft drink. The spaghetti bolognaise is my go-to dish, but the burritos went down a treat with the girls.

3. Little Jerusalem
Camden Street Lower
Little Jerusalem is a Lebanese and Palestinian restaurant just at the top of Camden Street. I'll admit I was a bit wary of trying it out as it didn't sound like something I'd usually go for, but it was surprisingly delicious. If you like falafel, hummus and kebabs, you'll like this place! The best part? There's a BYOB (bring your own beer) policy, so it's the perfect place for a meal and pre-drinks! The staff are all incredibly nice too which is a nice bonus.
Try: chicken shish tqouk and the hummus.

4. Gourmet Burger Kitchen
Temple Bar Square, Temple Bar
Another burger joint, I know, but there's so many good ones in Dublin- another blog post on that in the future perhaps! There's plenty of GBKs around Dublin but the newly renovated one in Temple Bar is my favourite. They were kind enough to treat us to a meal after work when they reopened over the Summer and I've been back 3 times since. Again, perfect for casual get togethers or for a quick bite after lectures.
Try: the pulled pork burger and rosemary fries.

5. Skinflint
Crane Lane (just off Dame Street)
Last but certainly not least, we have one of the best pizza places in town. Skinflint would be a dream date location as the pizzas are large enough to share and the prices aren't too hefty either. One of my favourites without a doubt!
Try; the meatballs for starter, 'dorothy' and 'philomena' pizza and a baron cocktail to wash it all down.

I hope this post is of some help to any students (and non-students) for somewhere new to try- let me know if you try any of them out! Stay tuned for my top cocktail and cafés to visit next.
