Hey everyone,
It's no surprise that I'm a big fan of budget beauty, and I've regularly featured affordable bits and pieces here on my blog. When I received some makeup from from Essence* to feature on my blog, I was super excited. Essence will always hold a close place in my heart as from what I can remember, they were the first makeup brand I ever used! I realise that it's now Autumn so some of these products might be a bit harder to find, but I imagine stockists will have most of them! Without further ado, here are my top picks from Essence's latest releases;
Hello Autumn eyeshadow palette*: I'm not going to lie- green isn't one of my favourite colours, but how lovely is this palette?! Essence have really captured the beauty of Autumn leaves so well, and I couldn't wait to use those earthy green tones. The pigmentation of some of the shades aren't too great, but for the most part they're extremely buildable. For only €4.79, you can't go wrong! Perfect for those who are constantly on the go.
Hello Autumn eyebrow set*: Although you can't often see them because of my fringe, I do believe that eyebrows are extremely important- they can change a look from drab to fab in seconds. The darker shade in this palette matches my brunette brows perfectly, and the highlight shade isn't too shabby either! €3.09
Lash Princess mascara*; I have a ridiculous amount of mascaras in my collection, and I tend to switch between different ones daily. This mascara in particular is surprisingly very lengthening, and also long wearing. I really like the shape and size of the brush- it's small enough to reach those pesky inner lashes, without looking clumpy. €3.29
Longlasting lipstick in '14 adorable matt!'*; As a huge 1950's fan, red lipstick is a necessity for me. I have a couple of different brands and shades, but lately I've been reaching for this little gem. It's super creamy, opaque and lasts for hours- what more could you want?! €2.40
Lipliner in '14 femme fatale'*; Every good lipstick deserves a matching lip liner, and this one is the perfect match for the longlasting lipstick. I do find the liner feels and smells a bit waxy, but it does the job well so I'm not one to complain. €1.10

Hey everyone,
Posting has been a bit slow here on my blog lately- I've been up to my eyes in homework, 'study' and university open days! I shot these outfit pictures a few weeks ago and since then it's become one of my favourite winter outfits. I adore faux fur gilets, and I picked up this new one on sale in Bershka while I was in Barcelona. Roll necks are also becoming a staple for me this season, and I'm lusting after a black and burgundy one. They're just so easy to throw on, not to mention warm! I had a press voucher to spend from Dunnes Stores so I picked up a pair of simple black ankle boots. Comfortable and classic!
This Saturday I'm taking part in the live Q&A at Ireland's first EVER blogger conference- I can't believe it! Some of Ireland's top bloggers will be there so I'm honoured to be attending, even if it's just for the Q&A panel. Tickets are available here, and if you're attending, do come and say hello!

Hey everyone,
The over the knee boot has been everywhere lately, and I've been lusting after a pair for so long! I'm still trying to find the right pair for me, and I'm hoping I find my dream pair before Christmas. Over the knee boots can be quite a tricky trend to master- a lot of people fear that they'll make them look shorter. If worn a certain way, they can actually elongate your legs!
There are so many ways you can wear thigh high boots, so there's certainly a look to suit everyone. My favorite way to style them is with an over-sized knit and a slouchy shoulder bag- effortlessly chic! Or you could wear them with an equally bang on trend blanket cape. Your favorite little black black dress and a cute clutch. Skinny jeans and a sweater- the possibilities are endless!
.. and here's my top picks from the high street!
l-r: New Look | River Island | Aldo | Office
Or click on the icons below to check out my designer lust-haves!
Gone are the days of short looking pins and the fear of looking like a hooker- the over the knee boot has taken the fashion world by storm.
Will you be testing this trend this season?

Hey everyone,
It's been a while since I wrote a more opinionated post, and after seeing a lot of comments about 'famous' bloggers/vloggers being made lately, I decided it was time to make my input. It has come to my attention lately that there seems to be a bit of controversy regarding bloggers and Youtubers in particular that have quite a large following- I'm talking in the millions! First of all, the term 'celebrity' does get on my nerves- how do we classify who is 'famous' and who is not? Where is the barrier between the two?
Zoella has become a renowned name in many young girls (and guys!) households over the past year or two. She's one of Britain's most popular beauty bloggers and her videos have millions of views. Not to mention her twitter following of 2.5 million- that's more than some well known musicians! Although some won't admit it, in my eyes this makes her a 'celebrity'. Which brings me on to the Band Aid 30 song- the UK charity single featuring Bono, Sam Smith, One Direction.. and three vloggers. I personally don't have a problem with this-why not? If they're reaching out to the youth of today, if they're helping with the sales and aiding the charity, I honestly don't see why people have become so worked up about it.
Sometimes it's hard to forget that these internet personalities are real people too. They started off working hard like the rest of us, and almost overnight they've reached millions of people. But isn't that just like some very successful actors and singers? A hobby that turned into a job- it's something we all dream of, and something they have too. These bloggers/vloggers have not only become famous on the internet, but 'real life' celebrities too. Some have branched out to signing book deals, others have curated makeup collections. I understand that there are authors out there struggling to get a deal, and yet these youtubers are throwing out books left right and centre. But if it's something they enjoy, something they've always wanted to do and overall a good read, I'm not one to turn my nose up at it.
I guess what I'm trying to say here is: people have to come to conclusions and realise that these people are influential and are like celebrities in their own right. Perhaps we shouldn't be so quick to judge them when opportunities like charity singles and writing books come about- if I'm brutally honest, I'd jump at that chance, and I know a lot of people would too!
What do you think of these Internet 'celebrities?' Leave your opinions below!

Hey everyone,
I was recently invited by the renowned jewellers Appleby to check out what they had in store and their new collections. I have to admit, it was my first time visiting Applebys, but it was definitely worth it! It's no lie that I'm a lover of jewellery and all things bling- diamonds are a girl's best friend, right? I got to try on some simply beautiful pieces, and I could definitely get used to wearing €30'000 on my finger! The staff at Appleby were so welcoming and lovely, and it was such a nice night. We also got an exclusive look at two unique Chanel watches, so that was an added bonus. I got chatting to one of my favourite bloggers Nuala from Penny And Polaroids, and she was kind enough to take a few snaps of my outfit before the night ended.
I decided it was time to dig out my absolute favourite winter staple: my black faux fur coat from Debenhams. I kept my look very sleek and monochrome, pairing the coat with my leather panelled leggings and thrifted black and white blouse. I also wore my most glitter-y shoes- these gold wonders from Korky's. They also happen to be the most painful shoes I own.. but beauty is pain after all!

Hey everyone,
Here's the last of my daytime looks from Barcelona- finally! I still have two night outfits to post but I think I'll pair them together. It's so nice to look back on the lovely weather, especially since there's been floods and heavy rain here lately.
I'll keep this post quite short, but I have to say- I love these outfit pictures! Parc Guell was truly beautiful, and it was a scorcher of a day when we visited. Gaudi's architecture is firm becoming one of my favourites.

T-shirt & hat- Penneys/Primark

Hey everyone,
The Jack & Jill Foundation have teamed up with itsfabuless.com recently, and they were kind enough to send me out this beautiful Yves Saint Laurent travel palette* to try out! The Jack and Jill foundation provide direct funding to families of children with brain damage, so it's all for brilliant cause. itsfabuless.com sell high quality items for bargain products- what more could you want?
The palette itself is extremely pretty, and the leather compact case is not only really practical, but also very luxurious! It comes with four eye shadows, two lip colours and a gorgeous dusty-pink blush. The blusher has been one of my most used products lately- I love how subtle and natural looking it is. I haven't used the lip colours that much yet, but I have swatched them, and they're both very opaque and smooth! My least favourite thing about this palette has unfortunately got to be the shadows- they're surprisingly quite chalky and not pigmented at all. For such a high end brand, I was expecting alot more from the eye shadow quality, but the rest of the product almost makes up for it!
Overall, this palette is super handy for being on the go, but the eye shadows do let it down. I highly recommend itsfabuless.com however, as they have some amazing beauty bargains and great prices! You can buy this YSL palette* here for €40.
Have you tried any YSL beauty bits?

Hey everyone,
You might remember from one of my most popular posts about stealing Cher Horowitz's style (check it out here!) that I'm a BIG Clueless fan. It's fast become one my favourite movies! When I heard that the renowned highstreet brand Oasis were releasing a Clueless inspired collection, I was really intrigued. I was delighted to hear that the collection is by a young Irish designer- Catherine Kelly. Catherine won the 'Design Your Future' contest hosted by Oasis last year. The time has finally come for Catherine's 7 piece collection to be released, and Catherine kindly answered a few questions for me about it..
~
1. Hi Catherine, congratulations on the launch of your collection! What made you enter the 'Design Your Future' in the first place?
Thank you very much! I had herd of the completion from my Aunt Triona who had seen it on Ireland Am. At the time I had just graduated from a BA in fashion design from limerick school of art and design and was working at home in Ennis saving up to move away and look for design opportunities. Such an amazing opportunity like “design your future” don’t come around often so I knew I had to give it a shot!
2. Was there something that sparked your interest for design, or have you always been interested in fashion?
I’ve always been creative and I think I always knew that design was the path for me.
3. You spent months in London- would you say their sense of style is much different to Irish style?
The style in London is quite eclectic , given that it is such a variety of cultures all here in one city, London is quite an inspiring place in that sense. I think it’s a bit more laid back over here, especially going out style. I think at home in Ireland we like to get a bit more dressed up for the weekend, which I love.
4. The 90's classic 'Clueless' was one of your inspirations (also one of my favourite movies!). Have you got a favourite fashion era?
I take inspiration from many eras, and what inspires my work changes all the time but The Nineties is consistent favourite for me. Being a child of the nineties, I love when something sparks nostalgia, like matching sets I would have had when I was younger (as featured in my collection ) A big focus for my collection is co-ords, pieces that can be worn as a set (very nineties) or mixed and matched as separates.
5. What are your top tips to those wanting to start out in the design industry?
I am fortunate enough to have studied fashion design at internationally top ranked LSAD (Limerick school of art and design), which has really prepared me for a career in fashion. You learn early on that it is an especially tough industry. My top tip for anyone starting out is to work hard, go for any opportunity, and not to get discouraged by challenges along the way.
6. What trend(s) are you looking forward to wearing this season?
I’m obviously a big fan of all thing nineties, I’ll be wearing slash knee jeans, crop knits, chunky boots and lots of grey and checks!
7. Lastly, where would you like to see yourself in 10 years time?
Hopefully with my own label :) watch this space!

Hey everyone,
For our second day in Barcelona, we decided to head away from the city and towards Montserrat, which was about an hour away. To get to the popular monastery in Montserrat, you had to get a cable car 4'000 feet high up into the mountains, so that was pretty exciting! The monastery itself was beautiful- I'll admit, I am not a religious person whatsoever. Although I was raised as a Catholic ( a very, very relaxed one at that) I see myself more as agnostic. That said, I love art, stained glass and church buildings, so the trip was still worthwhile! The monastery is most famous for the 'black Madonna', the statue of Mary that survived a fire in the monastery years ago (apparently!), hence it's dark colour and name.
I wore my amazing eye-printed jumpsuit from Lavish Alice* , but because it was quite chilly being uphill, I paired it with a casual white tee and my kimono. Nothing too extravagant here!
What I Wore;
Jumpsuit- Lavish Alice*
T-shirt & kimono- Penneys/Primark
Shoes- New Look
Bag- vintage
Snaps from the trip;

OOTD- Montserrat (Barcelona Day 2)
11.07.2014
What I Wore;
Jumpsuit- Lavish Alice*
T-shirt & kimono- Penneys/Primark
Shoes- New Look
Bag- vintage
Snaps from the trip;
Check out day one of my trip here!

Hey everyone,
Seeing as Barcelona is home to a lot of beauty and makeup stores, I think it's quite impressive that I managed to leave with just four. But four gorgeous products they are! The title is a bit of a lie, seeing as I bought one on the plane and one in Dublin Airport, but I'm sure you all get the general idea. Let's get straight into it then!
M.A.C Velvet Teddy lipstick & Kiko smart lip pencil (shade 700)
Velvet Teddy is a gorgeous brown-toned nude lipstick from M.A.C, with a matte finish. It's also (supposedly!) one of Kylie Jenner's most worn lipsticks to achieve her 90's lip look. I knew I wanted to pic up a MAC lippie in the airport because they're €3 cheaper there, but I only decided on this shade when I saw how pretty it was! I then headed to Kiko, which isn't availible in Ireland, and picked up a matching lip liner for something less than €4- bargain or what?
Kiko nail lacquer (shade 532)
As soon as I laid eyes on this nail polish, I knew I had to own it. It reminds me of one of those limited edition Barry M polishes they had out last year. It's such a beautiful, blue-green shade that reminds me of mermaids and Christmas baubles and sweet wrappers. I can see myself wearing this shade a lot this season, even though green is my least favourite colour! Kiko is available to buy online here if you're interested.
theBalm Nude'Tude eyeshadow palette
Last but not least, the item I love the most- theBalm cosmetic's Nude'Tude eyeshadow palette. I had been lusting after this for ages, so I was delighted to see it on board my Aer Lingus flight for only €22- that's €10 cheaper than it usually is! It's such a good price for €12 gorgeous eye shadows, and I've heard so many good reviews about the quality so I can't wait to use it. Not only that, but I adore the retro packaging! You can currently buy it on Cloud10 online here
