easy nail art
Hey everyone,
Welcome to the second installment of my Halloween Nails series. You can check out my first tutorial here, [eyeball nails]- pretty creepy stuff! I wanted to create a look that is perhaps easier than the eyeballs, and I came up with this gruesome blood splattered nails. I hope you are truly disgusted by them and try them out this Halloween!
You Will Need;
- nude nail polish
-red nail polish pen
What I Used;
-nude; essence nude glam
-red; hairspray nail art pen
Preparation;
I find it best to apply a basecoat before painting my nails, and a topcoat after. The basecoat stops the polish from staining your nails, and the topcoat will make it last longer and appear glossier. I use a Sally Hansen nail hardener as my basecoat, and an Essence topcoat.
Tutorial;
1. Paint your nails with two coat of your nude polish. I think this looks especially effective if the nude polish is similar to your skin tone, like this one I bought from Essence months ago.
2. Using your red nail art pen, trace the dripping blood design. Do this by going in up and down movements, in different sizes.
3. Fill in the red with the red pen or similar red nail polish.
4. On a few of the nails, I added some red drops for a true splattered effect.

Its that time of year again where you start seeing Halloween decorations in shops again. For me, it's when I start seeing bloggers making halloween themes posts. I'm a bit of a halloween grinch- I never particularly liked it as a child and I hate it now. Perhaps its because my estate are quite boring when it comes to halloween. If halloween was still about its original purpose, I'd probably like it, as I like dressing up and I love anything witch-y! So instead of makeup tutorials, I thought I'd start a new halloween nail art tutorial series instead. Hope you like them, let me know if you'll be trying them out!
You Will Need;
-White nail polish & pen
-Blue nail polish
-Red nail art pen
-Black nail art pen
What I Used;
- white; Sinful Colours
-blue, black & red nail art pens from Hairspray
Preparation;
I find it best to apply a basecoat before painting my nails, and a topcoat after. The basecoat stops the polish from staining your nails, and the topcoat will make it last longer and appear glossier. I use a Sally Hansen nail hardener as my basecoat, and an Essence topcoat.
Tutorial;
1. Paint your nails two shades of white. I love this one by Sinful Colours, it lasts ages and gives full coverage!
2. Using your blue nail polish/pen, make a blue circle in the middle of your nail.
3. When dry, paint a black [smaller] circle inside the black circle for the pupil. I used a white nail art pen t pain a little dot in the top left hand corner, so it looks like there's light shining on it for a 3D effect!
4. Taking your red nail art pen, draw 'Y' shapes and zig-zags starting from the outside of the nail. Repeat this all around the nail so they look like veins.
And there you have it- eyes on your fingers.

Alot of people have been commenting on my nail art posts with things like "wish I could do that!" or "pity I don't have a steady hand". I've tried to break this down as simple as possible. Remember, practice makes perfect! I've been doing nail art for years, so don't worry if it doesn't come out amazing first go. Let me know if you try it out, I'd love to see your pictures.
You Will Need;
- A nail polish of your choice
- Black nail art pen [or dip a cocktail stick in black polish!]
-White nail polish/pen
What I Used;
-Barry M Gelly polish in "greenberry"
- Nail art pens from Hairspray
Preparation;
I find it best to apply a basecoat before painting my nails, and a topcoat after. The basecoat stops the polish from staining your nails, and the topcoat will make it last longer and appear glossier. I use a Sally Hansen nail hardener as my basecoat, and an Essence topcoat.
Tutorial;
1. Paint two coats of your chosen nail colour on to your nails. I love this Barry M one, and the gelly polish range is definitely one of my favorites this year!
2. Using your black nail art pen, draw broken circles on your nails. The easiest way to do this is to think of drawing brackets like ( ) this!
3. Fill in some of the spacing by drawing a few random thin black flicks surrounding the 'brackets'
4. Fill in the 'brackets' using your white nail art pen. And you're done!
