I love eyeshadow palettes- they're compact, easy to use and easy to carry around. My makeup collection is still growing, and it's no lie that my Naked palette is my every day staple. When I heard about Naked 3, I wasn't in a rush to buy it, but as soon as I saw those gorgeous pink hues I fell in love! However after just buying the Naked 1 palette, I decided to hold off and try other brands. When Ann Marie Gannon PR contacted me and sent me this this beautiful Pari Eyeshadow Palette* I knew it was match made in heaven.

Rachel Murphy is a professional makeup artist who discovered Canadian brand Pari Beauty recently. The Pari eye shadow palettes contain UV protection, mica for a silky texture, and zinc which works for sensitive skin. In every day terms: these eyeshadows are brilliant for sensitive skin whilst also being extremely pigmented and silky! Each palette has a mixture of matte, shimmer and semi pearl colours. I received the 'Elements' palette, which contains a beautiful cream, two shades of brown, a pearly rose gold and deep burgundy. 

I love how versatile this palette is- you could create a girly, simple look using the lighter shades, or grunge it up a bit with the cranberry. The palette also comes with a mirror and a brush. I'm not a fan of the sponge applicator- personally I find them a bit useless, but the brush on the other end works perfectly for blending the shadow together.

Retailing at €40 at rachelmurphymakeup.com, it might seem a bit pricey, but when you think about it, that's only €8 per eyeshadow! I'm extremely impressed with how pigmented these are. Lasting power isn't as long as I would expect on it's own, but with an eye primer they lasted all of the school day for me.

Here's a quick look I created- it's very simple but classy!

Hey everyone,

I'm currently writing this in bed, sick with a bad cold and moping with self pity. The Easter holidays have begun, and to say I'm elated would be an understatement! I'll have plenty of time to write my heart out. I recently received a gorgeous necklace from Eleanor Hall Jewellery* and I couldn't wait to wear it. I've followed Eleanor on twitter for a while now and I was in awe of her products, so when she asked if I'd like to try a piece out I jumped at the chance. She sent me her "Heavy Metal" necklace [retailing at €26] which is made with Czech glass spike beads- almost magical like! It's particularly hard to capture on camera, from the way the light catches it! I love it anyways, and she was kind enough to send a pair of earrings for my sister, who as you know is Oh Hey There Rachel's resident blog photographer. Eleanor is an Irish jewellery designer, and her latest Game Of Thrones collection is gorgeous!

I'm wearing yet another Haim band tee but I picked this up at their last gig in Ireland and I adore it. I decided to try out double buns in my hair and strangely enough, I really like it!

Hey everyone,

It's been a while since I last did a DIY post, and after sitting around sniffling with a cold all afternoon I decided to look up a few DIY posts on Pinterest. I was inspired to make a chain headband, although I knew it would probably look a bit strange with my fringe. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Victoria Justice have all been seen rocking a chain headband, so after some fiddling about, I made my own!

You will need: a long chain necklace, a shorter chain necklace, a scissors, tweezers and a charm

1. Take the shorter chain and measure it over the top of your head, as if going over a middle parting. Leave some chain on your forehead, and cute the chain at the middle of the back of your head using a scissors or a pliers. Be careful!
2. Taking the skinnier/longer chain, measure from the middle of your forehead around the side of your head towards the back. let it drape a bit so it's not too tight. Cut and repeat on the other side.
3. Using a small circle chain link, which I cut off the end of the necklace's fastener, open it using your tweezers and one by one put the chains in it in order as it will be across your head! Close it with the tweezers and repeat on the other side, but don't close it yet.
4. Now for the charm! I used this old one off a necklace but you could use an old earring if you wanted to too. Place it into the circle chain link that will be at the front of your head, and close.
And now you're done! Embrace your inner goddess just in time for festival season.

DIY Chain Headband

It's been a while since I last did a DIY post, and after sitting around sniffling with a cold all afternoon I decided to look up a few DIY posts on Pinterest. Hey everyone,

As a 'typically' pale Irish girl, I find it quite hard to find foundation on the highstreet. But, being a student, I'm not particularly willing to search the high end products either! Luckily, I've found a happy medium. A few weeks ago I was in my local Boots and randomly decided to get matched to a foundation. No7 are a brand sold exclusively to Boots, and I have been loving their products lately. The girl at the No7 desk was really helpful, and asked about my skin type [combination] and preferred type of foundation, whilst using their matching machine to find me my perfect shade!

I was matched to the lightest shade, Calico [no surprise there] and she recommended their newest foundation, the Superlight version of Stay Perfect. Not going to lie, the word 'light' threw me off a little, but I took the plunge and bought it anyways. In the past I've always used a medium coverage foundation, but luckily this foundation actually gives just that. The shade is as close to perfect as I'm going to get for my face- although not the same shade as my body, I have alot of freckles on my face, giving my face a naturally darker tint.

The foundation claims to last 24 hours, and give "flawless complexion with a barely there feel". Although I'm still dubious about every 24 hour claim out there [why would I want to wear foundation that long anyways?], this foundation does last throughout the day. I definitely agree with the "barely there feel" too, as it looks so natural on the skin, whilst covering all my blemishes and redness. Finish wise, it's dewy but semi matte, and it dries pretty quickly with no sticky residue.

You get your usual 30ml for €18.95, which I personally believe is worth it. The packaging is super sturdy and clean, with a pointed nozzle at the end- great for releasing as much product as you need! I would recommend waiting until the No7 vouchers come out every now and then in Boots, as you could save yourself €4. You can buy it online here.

I'm extremely shortsighted and wear glasses everyday, for tv, school, etc. I tend to wear contacts at the weekend, but they can be tiring to wear every day.
