Hey everyone!
I've decided to bring another thing that I love to my blog: reading. I read alot, always have, and hopefully always will. Even when I was a child, the thought of getting immersed into a good book left me enthralled. I believe that reading is so important [I promise this isn't a lecture post!]. If you think reading is boring, you're reading the wrong books. Don't let anyone ever tell you that it is 'stupid'- Quite the opposite actually, as it makes you smarter!
Today I'll be reviewing a book I recently read and loved. As a huge dystopian fiction fan [that's post apocalyptic, or futuristic] I had been meaning to read this book for a while, and it was only when I ran out of books to read did I pick it up from the library. I'm so glad I did! I don't want to give too much away, as I don't want to spoil the book for you, so I'll just post the blurb from the back of the book. If you would prefer a longer summary in future, let me know!
About the Book;
My Opinion;
The blurb simply doesn't do this book justice. Although I thought the book appeared good enough after reading the back, never did I think it would be as good as it was! Its one of those books that you just cant put down. Each chapter left me wanting more, as I constantly wanted to know what happened next. The book features a strong, independent female, which I like. Usually, I tend to dislike the lead female character, for just being annoying, however I could relate to Cassia and found her very easy to like. I wasn't too keen on the male characters, for once! I know it may seem like a typical teen love triangle, but it really isn't! It was a very believable book, and I can't wait to read the rest of the series. The plot itself was very captivating. There were no moments where I wanted to to fall asleep half way through- From the very first page, I was hooked. If you like The Hunger Games or Divergent, you will definitely love this.

Hey everyone,
Ok, so this isn't TECHNICALLY the first nail art tutorial I've done on Oh Hey There Rachel- I did a not-so-great-quality one last year, however I've decided to frequently start making them! Alot of people have been commenting on my nail art posts with things like "wish I could do that!" or "pity I don't have a steady hand". I've tried to break this down as simple as possible. Remember, practice makes perfect! I've been doing nail art for years, so don't worry if it doesn't come out amazing first go. Let me know if you try it out, I'd love to see your pictures.
You Will Need;
- A nail polish of your choice
- Black nail art pen [or dip a cocktail stick in black polish!]
-White nail polish/pen
What I Used;
-Barry M Gelly polish in "greenberry"
- Nail art pens from Hairspray
Preparation;
I find it best to apply a basecoat before painting my nails, and a topcoat after. The basecoat stops the polish from staining your nails, and the topcoat will make it last longer and appear glossier. I use a Sally Hansen nail hardener as my basecoat, and an Essence topcoat.
Tutorial;
1. Paint two coats of your chosen nail colour on to your nails. I love this Barry M one, and the gelly polish range is definitely one of my favorites this year!
2. Using your black nail art pen, draw broken circles on your nails. The easiest way to do this is to think of drawing brackets like ( ) this!
3. Fill in some of the spacing by drawing a few random thin black flicks surrounding the 'brackets'
4. Fill in the 'brackets' using your white nail art pen. And you're done!

I was recently invited to the reveal of the new A/W'13 collection by Schuh at Kelly's Hotel in Dublin. I missed the breakfast in the morning because of school [boo!] which was in I think most bloggers attended. Oh well- I still had a fabulous time! The team from Schuh PR flew over from the UK with the shoes. I must admit, I was in love with what I saw! A Fall favorite of mine was prominent- chunky, buckle boots galore! As you can clearly see from my A/W'13 shoe wishlist, I adore these kind of shoes! Thick heels, open cut and big buckles- my favorite. There was a collection of flats, ranging from hounds-tooth loafers to glittery brogues. Lastly, they had a 'party shoes' table, with the likes of the heels above! My favorite were these huge holographic platforms, and also the purple velvet heels. If you're looking for a pair of standout, party shoes this Christmas, Schuh is definitely the place to go!
All in all, the new collection is very varied, with something to suit everyone, whether you prefer boots, heels or flats. I can't wait to see the collection in stores. The Schuh PR team were so lovely to me, as arrived late myself and my mam were the only ones there! There was cupcakes, retro sweets and I even got a cute goodie bag.

That's right, you heard it- guess who's a finalist for Best Youth Blog in the Blog Awards Ireland 2013? Lil' old me! I was literally in shock when I found out. To be dwindled down from 40 to the top 5 is a huge honour for me. I started blogging for fun last Christmas, and since then it's been a rollercoaster. I've met some amazing people and found out alot about myself during the way. As a teen blogger, it's often hard to get noticed by other bloggers, and taken seriously by PRs and Companies. Its safe to say that alot has changed, and people are finally starting to realise that us youth's are just as good as people twice our age!
Congratulations to those who are finalists too. It was great to see some of my favorite blogs on there, and disappointing to see those that weren't.
